Yipee I’m going to College

HIGH school is such a wonderful four years. In fact, it is even cherished ten years after during the high school reunion. Going to college is not like going to high school. You will be absorbed to a specific field, one that you will have interest in to have a lifetime career.

College is usually reserved for high school graduates who are about 18 years or old or so. In some cases, this is not being mature enough. So a person would have to wait for a few more years before he or she can really decide on which career to take.

A normal college program takes on about eight academic semesters to accomplish. That would translate to about four calendar years in college or so. Some persons would like to immediately go to community college because they feel they are not worthy enough to go to college. In a community college owned by the state, programs are focused on the industries of the particular county or parish where the college campus is located. After the kid has graduated from the community college, he or she then embarks to a regular college.

College is another exciting phase because most college students in the United States today are housed in student dormitories because not all counties in the country have their own college. Some students are actually enrolled in state universities and these state universities are located in only few campuses throughout the state. Living in a dormitory is an exciting life. There are some dormitory rooms which are coed but these are only reserved for students with full consent to living in one. Proper etiquette must be observed at all times when a student is living in a coed dormitory room. If one is a male student, he must first secure approval from his female roommate whether he can parade around the room only in boxers. The same is true for the female roommate. She must also secure approval from her male roommate if it is okay for him for the female dorm lodger to be parading around in the room with only her towel on.

There are various programs which a college applicant can choose once accepted. If his or her family lives in a farm, then he or she may choose agriculture. Agriculture itself is divided into different categories. There’s a program solely dedicated on crop science, another one for agricultural economics and another one for animal science. There is also a specialized course in agricultural engineering dedicated to the advancement of all technologies optimizing harvests. Another field that is spawned from agriculture is food technology and nutrition.

The trendiest field of education in the United States nowadays is in the health sector. There are lots of people who are into nursing for example because hospitals, clinics and other health care providers are in dire need of them. There are different health specializations like those ones specializing in geriatrics, pediatrics, urology and dermatology. So choose which college way you want to navigate now.
