89% of Rye High School Seniors Headed in Four Year Colleges

The Rye High School class of the year 2010 will be graduating this Saturday and most of these learners will now become college freshmen in the month of September. With that, about 89% in the Rye’s will nearly got 200 seniors that will now be headed towards the four year colleges and for this year class that have just recently receive its acceptance towards a highly competitive educational learning institutes than those previous graduating classes during their last three years according to Patricia Taylor who is the current assistant principal of Guidance in Rye High School. In Tuesday night’s Board of Education program meeting, Taylor will present final report towards student’s college selection. She stated that learners will be sending 1,359 applications towards 321 various colleges. About more than half of these senior classes, 139 learners will applied via an early decision or for early action that will allow learners of completing their college educational process in several months earlier once they have accepted to their school choice. Taylor stated that about 65% of this 356 early action and as well early decision applications have entirely accepted. Meanwhile, about 89% college ratings have slightly drop from this nearly 95% of its students that went upon joining this four year colleges in the year 2009. In 2008 class, it already got an about 91%.
For this year graduate, they will be joining the colleges in most of their every region in the nation from the Bowdoin College and Yale University, Rice University, University of Notre Dame, and University of San Diego. Colleges will also be recruiting and accepting learners that been based on the athletic ability and for the academics. Some of these colleges include the Colby College, MIT, and Brown University, Georgetown Fordham, Duke University and various others. Those college acceptances do not entirely come as affordable. Average price of this private, the four year school is already more than $35,600 in yearly basis. The Rye High School learners will be offsetting their costs through this educational scholarships and educational grants. Taylor stated that this senior class had already received an award for about $170,500 for their educational grants and scholarship program from the 53 different organization and individuals.
Taylor have credited the learner’s progress unto their own hard work but got school district efforts upon preparing them and even guiding them through this college education process. She also stated that the district have also provided various resources and programs for learners that includes the college essay writing workshops and class setting that teaches learners as how to entirely manage their futures. The district have also hosted various college information sessions with an about 137 colleges that will be visiting the Rye High School of this school year. Rye City School District will now be releasing a detailed listing in the coming next week for each student’s college educational destination.
